Eight Biddeford Childcare Providers Receive COVID Relief Grants

Biddeford Ready! awarded COVID Relief Grants to eight Biddeford childcare providers, thanks to the generosity of the Maine Community Foundation.

A total of $6,000 grants were awarded in December 2020 and January 2021 to both home-based and center-based providers. Providers could spend the grants as they saw fit, with most reporting that the funds were spent on cleaning supplies, PPE, covering revenue shortfall, and emergency staff coverage due to illness. One provider bought an air and surface purifier and another made some environmental modifications to help meet safe COVID-19 protocol.
